Flute Types & Board Grades for Corrugated Mailer Boxes
E-flute, B-flute and double-wall board have different profiles and constructions. The right option depends on box size, product weight, stacking and shipping conditions.
- E-flute: A thinner single-wall profile for compact packaging and a smoother print surface.
- B-flute: A deeper single-wall profile that may suit designs requiring a different balance of cushioning and rigidity.
- Double-wall: Two fluted layers for projects that require additional board strength, subject to the selected board grade and box design.
Confirm the finished specification with an assembled sample. For shipping-sensitive products, test the fully packed box under the conditions relevant to your delivery route.
Generally, we use high-quality paper and E-flute corrugated board to achieve a compact design capable of supporting the weight of 80% of products, ensuring robust durability during transport.
Corrugated Mailer Boxes with Custom Inserts
Fitted inserts help organize products and limit movement inside the box. The insert material and layout should be selected for the product and packaging requirements.
- Glass bottles: Dividers can separate individual containers.
- Electronics: A fitted insert can hold components in place. Confirm any anti-static requirements before selecting the material.
- Cosmetics and gift sets: Paperboard inserts can organize items for presentation.
Review the insert fit, clearance and product movement with a fully packed sample before production.
For Custom box inserts, approve the assembled pack after drop and vibration checks, recording divider height, gaps and product movement.
